Ashok Leyland has bagged yet an another large size order for 1,200 trucks, worth over Rs 350 crore, from VRL Logistics Ltd (VRL), one of the largest logistics companies in India. The order comprises 600 units each of the ‘3123’ and ‘3723’ models.

The trucks will come fitted with the latest advanced features and technologies, which will help VRL to have a reduced maintenance time, fewer stopovers and better efficiency resulting in better uptime and increased profitability.

Commenting on the new business, Vinod Dasari, MD, Ashok Leyland, said, “VRL Logistics and Ashok Leyland have a long-standing relationship which surpasses the usual customer, vendor relationship.   1. This order has uplifted the partnership between VRL and AL to an all new high. Though VRL has witnessed reliability, efficiency, uptime and simplicity of AL in BS2 and BS3 trucks, BS4 technology adopted by AL is completely new and the quantum of order just shows the trust on AL brand by VRL..!!

    Also majority of 31T and 37T trucks sold by AL are powered by their 177hp engine, but this order may prove that 221hp iEGR may be rock solid reliable as well.

    @cvnews any idea whether VRL had been given trucks for test before this large scale order?
