Ashok Leyland has been testing 41T rigid trucks for quite some time and now we have got some clear images of the truck under testing. Our reader Mr.Chandrasekar has shared them with us and here we present more details of the truck.
The truck will be an extension of existing 37T rigid truck platform, which means there will be two front axle and three rear axles of which the first rear axle will be lifted. Ashok Leyland continue to offer only pusher lift axle variant in the 5 axle truck segment, as there is also an option of offering Tag axle.
Tata Motors and Mahindra offering tag axle in the 5 axle truck segment option along with pusher lift axle. Though primary advantage of tag axle is reduced Turing Circle Diameter(TCD), Ashok Leyland continue to offer only pusher lift axle variants, with optimal load body length and leading dimensions making it competitive with tag axle trucks.
The 41T truck will continue to be offered with tried and tested Bell crank lever rear suspension setup unlike balancer type in BharatBenz trucks. The lift axle is pneumatically suspended and now with twin tyre axle will have an axle load capacity of 10.2 T.
